Coastal Heritage Alliance solicits major donor support for the development of portal sites within several North American coastal communities.

Portal sites to include:

• the acquisition of a fishing vessel culturally significant to each region.

• documentation, preservation, and potential rehabilitation of each vessel to accommodate its contemporary use in the fields of research and education.

• a secure dockside mooring facility, where education and cultural interpretation can be presented to the general public.

• appropriate funding to acquire and maintain professional staff and interns during the start-up phase.

Projected cost: $250,000
